Open Source CFD Workshop

This year we organize as an additional side event a special workshop about Open Source CFD. Within this workshop we would like to give interested participants the possibility to get familiar with this opensource Computer Fluid Dynamics program. The workshop will be divided into two packages:

  1. WS 01: Beginners
  2. WS 02: Advanced users

Pre-requests

WS 01 Beginners:
There are no special requirements on OpenFOAM® background. Basics of Linux commands are preferable (basic Linux commands sheet will be provided with training material).

WS 02 Advanced:
Basics in OpenFOAM® are necessary (e.g. case structure, case set-up). No prior knowledge of c++ programming needed.

NOTE: The Software OpenFOAM®  used in this workshop will be provided on a USB key with the Linux distribution Ubuntu installed. To use the stick please rearrange your boot options accordingly to boot from the stick directly. In case of any queries, don't hesitate to contact us per e-mail:

The workshop will be held at the Seminar room "Kronprinz Rudolf".

Due to the limited space available for this workshop the number of participants is restricted by 15 persons!!! Please take care to register early enough for this event to get your seat. All registrations are handled on a first come, first served basis.
