Following the successful 15^th Seminar in 2008 (with about 300 participants) the "Institute for Energy Systems and Thermodynamics", Research group "Fluid-Flow machinery" and the "Institute for Testing and Research in Materials Technology" at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria are organizing the oncoming event.

Objectives

The objective of the Seminar is to provide a forum for exchanging information and ideas as well as presenting new developments in various fields of Hydropower. For more than 100 years Hydropower has been the backbone of a clean, efficient and reliablepower production. Under the growing concern of climate change and proposed reductions of CO₂ output, renewable technologies other than Hydropower have received much attention recently. Nevertheless, Hydropower continues to play a substantial role in renewable power production and its reliability most be emphasized. Moving forward, new ideas and technological improvements will ensure the continued safe, efficient and sustainable use of Hydropower. Your contributions are welcome and we look forward to an active exchange of ideas and sharing of experiences.
