GE Vernova Hydro Power, SWITZERLAND

Dr.-Ing. Christof Gentner is currently working as a project engineering manager at GE Vernova Hydro Power in Birr, Switzerland. After obtaining a doctoral degree in numerical simulation and experimental investigations in axial turbines at the University of Stuttgart, Germany, he started his career in 1999 as a specialist for CFD-based hydraulic development of Francis turbines, pump turbines and radial pumps at a major manufacturer of electro-mechanical equipment for hydro power plants. From 2008 until 2014 he was head of the hydraulic design team for radial machines and globally responsible for the hydraulic development of pump turbines in the same company. In October 2014, he joined GE Renewable Energy.
He has wide experience with the practical application of CFD to design, operation analysis and troubleshooting for hydraulic machines. Christof Gentner has been active in the field of hydraulic machines for over 30 years and is author or co-author of more than 60 publications and conference papers.
