TU Wien, Institute of Energy Systems and Thermodynamics, Research Unit of Fluid-Flow Machinery, AUSTRIA

Eduard DOUJAK obtained his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from TU Wien in 2000. He is currently working there as an Assistant Professor  at the Research Unit of Fluid Flow Machinery at the Institute of Energy Systems and Thermodynamics..

One of his core research fields has been the development of a Small Hydro Pump-turbine for decentralized energy production and storage. Further on he investigated the possibility of Small Hydropower Plant pressure pipe desilting by using strongly swirling flow in an Axial Hydro cyclone. In this matter he holds national and international patents and received the national INVENTUM price for the second best invention in 2011. Latest research projects deal with the determination of the residual lifetime of Francis runners.

He is member of several Advisory Committees of international conferences. Between 2011 and 2015 he was also teaching Hydropower Development and Operation at the Tribhuvan University of Kathmandu in Nepal.
