Prof. Heimerl studied civil engineering and made his PhD at Stuttgart University about the assessment of hydropower plants. Afterwards he worked at the hydropower sector of Energie Baden-Württemberg AG, one of the big German energy suppliers. In 2007 he joined the Fichtner Group, one of the leading German Consultants in Energy Sector. In the moment he is department manager for hydropower at Fichtner Water & Transportation GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany. Additionally he is Chief Editor of the German independent journal “WasserWirtschaft” (water management) and Lecturer at University of Stuttgart. Due to his wide experience in the subject of more than 20 years he was appointed as publicly certified and sworn expert analyst for hydropower plants and fishpass structures.
