Reinhard Willinger was born in 1966 and got his Ph.D. from Vienna University of Technology in 1997. Since 2003, he is Associate Professor for Thermal Turbomachinery at the Institute for Energy Systems and Thermodynamics, Vienna University of Technology. His special fields of interest are theory of fluid flow machines, axial turbine secondary and tip-leakage flow, diffuser flow and advanced turbomachinery seals.
